**This is a cross post from my.lotro.com/talbotbanyan as I’m having a crisis of identity of sorts as to where to run this blog.**
To those of you who are coming via the event entry in the Ucon catalog -welcome! To those of you who have already been here, welcome back and thanks for bearing through a rehash of some old posts.
The Watcher
These pics above are scenery from the second scenario – The Watcher in the Water to be played at UCon at 10am on Saturday morning. I have to thank Merric from A Casual Stroll to Mordor for these pics as I failed to get any. You can see some in progress pictures of this scenery at my old blog.
Balin’s Tomb
These are pics above are of Balin’s Tomb – the scenery that is used for the 2nd scenario at UCon – 1pm Saturday afternoon. You can see a detailed blog entry of how I built this at the great war gaming terrain site Terragenesis.co.uk.
The Bridge of Khazad-dum
No pics yet on this – as I’ve yet to build it. But I will be documenting that progress here. I also hope to be doing some touch ups and adding details to the other scenery so I’ll add pics of that as it happens. In the mean time – here are some of the figures that you’ll see on the tables that day.
I look forward to any comments. I also look forward to hearing from any of you who will be coming to the con.

I’m starting a new project concerning Lord of the Rings miniature gaming. I plan on blogging about it here:

7 people showed up to play in the Watcher In the Water scenario. The Heroes won but lost Gimli and left Aragorn hanging my a tentacle.
6 of the 7 people came back to play in the Balin’s Tomb scenario and we were joined by 3 more for 9 players total! The heroes prevailed again but it was very close – with Frodo only having one wound left and no might or fate left to help him survive. A few well placed Sorcerous Blasts by Gandalf cleared a bunch of archers and even Pippin managed to down an archer after stooping for a stone!
Unfortunately I fat fingered my only shots of how lonely Frodo looked way in the back of the Tomb with only Gandalf’s radiance to protect him – so I’m going to hope that Merric from A Casual Stroll to Mordor will put up some of the pics he shot.
Thanks to Merric and all who attended. I’ll be doing this again at Wintercon on December 5th. Hope to see you all there!

So with only a week to spare I will spending ALOT of time working on things today. After all, 7 days from right now we’ll be playing on this stuff! For the time being here is a shot with some color on the pool and the stone.

Okay..so as the time approaches I find I am woefully behind on getting stuff done. Not to the point where I won’t be able to – but certainly where I need to step it up! Here you’ll see the big ugly with some color on him now. Pretty much where he’s going to stay for the time being until I get some gloss on water surface. Won’t be doing that until it comes time to do the surface of the pool however.
Now with color!
Also here are a few of the miniatures that will be on the table..the already completed ones. These links go off to photobucket. Will get more up as soon as I can. Expect them to come more frequently now as the time to UCon grows short!
